TV hit Dynamo: Magician Impossible conjures return for second series
TV hit Dynamo: Magician Impossible has conjured a second series on Watch.
The fly-on-the-wall documentary following the life of Steven Frayne returns on Thursday, July 5,
with a four-part series as the magician comes to terms with his success.
In the first episode, we follow Dynamo's whirlwind life over the past six months
as he visits the World Poker Tour in Venice and amazes people across the UK.
Also in the series, Dynamo visits Las Vegas, Rio and Los Angeles
where he dazzles members of the public and several celebrities with his latest stunts.
Steven Frayne emerged as a star after the first series became a huge hit,
attracting an average of 1.7million viewers on Watch,
winning Best Entertainment Programme at the Broadcast Awards
and gaining a nomination for Most Popular Entertainment Show at the 2012 National Television Awards.
Dynamo has amassed more than half a million Facebook likes and has over 700,000 followers on Twitter.
Watch closely - before this show vanishes
With the incredible geek power those scientists at CERN possess it wasn’t a huge surprise
to hear they’d finally tracked down their elusive God Particle.
What did shock me was that street magician Dynamo wasn’t sitting next to it sporting his best Adidas hoodie,
a cheeky smile and an even cheekier question: ‘Ah, gentlemen – welcome. What took you so long?’
If you think I’m exaggerating, I suggest you take a look at the new series of Dynamo: Magician Impossible,
which landed on cable and satellite channel Watch on Thursday night.
Some of Dynamo's tricks in this opening episode of Dynamo: Magician Impossible were so amazing
I couldn't toss even a crumb of cynicism in their direction
Because alongside BBC2’s stunning documentary 7/7:
One Day In London it was the most awe-inspiring piece of television of the week, possibly the year.
And the most gobsmacking thing about it is that it is still on Watch, whose only previous,
yet notable, achievement was finishing off Richard & Judy.
That said, when it comes to magic I’m usually with Simon Cowell,
who famously rolls his eyes whenever a cloaked conjurer sweeps onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage.
Some of you may have been fortunate enough to witness his magic at Volvo Snowbombing 2011,
showcasing his latest tricks on the Volvo Road Trip and on-piste throughout the week in Mayrhofen, Austria.
Now he’s tipped as the most exciting British magician to emerge in decades
with a global reputation as a world class magician
and a celebrity fanclub consisting of stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin and Will Smith.
